“Most homeowners focus only on tank size and forget that water quality, daily usage patterns, and treatment costs determine whether the system actually works year after year. These tools close that gap.”

Background

Sarah began working with residential water systems in 2016 as a field technician focused on water-quality testing and basic treatment installations. She earned a BS in Environmental Engineering in 2016 and completed an MS in Environmental Science, with a concentration in water resources, in 2018.

Since 2018 she has worked full-time on residential and light-commercial water-quality challenges: iron and manganese removal, hardness control, sediment filtration, disinfection options, realistic daily-usage analysis, and lifecycle cost planning. She has completed more than 150 residential treatment and usage assessments, helping homeowners choose systems that stay effective and affordable over time.

Sarah joined Water Calculator in 2026 to write and review the tools that decide long-term performance and operating cost — the topics homeowners most often overlook.
